Announcements from the Life Enrichment Team
1) Family and friends are welcome to attend and participate in all activity groups listed on the monthly activity calendar. We want to give our residents meaningful experiences and memories here at Care-Age, as well as give families the peace of mind that your loved ones are happy and enjoying their leisure time. Any information you can provide us on your family member’s prior hobbies and interests can help us provide even better care. We also want you to know that we try many different approaches to involve residents in activities, but they do have the right to refuse participation. There is an adjustment period and family/friend participation can help residents feel more comfortable.

2) We will send out newsletters several times a year with upcoming events, news from the facility, new employees, etc. We will continue to send invitations for big events throughout the year to the first emergency contact. Please respond to upcoming events ASAP so we are able to reserve a spot for you as space is limited.

3) Does your family member enjoy reading the Journal Sentinel? Families must call the Journal Sentinel directly to set up delivery. Newspapers are delivered each morning with a room number on them. Staff/resident volunteers deliver papers each morning.

4) Regarding other delivers packages, cards, letters, flowers (more about flowers to follow) please make sure the resident’s full name is written on the outside of packages or envelopes. We often have more than one Audrey or Robert here at a time.

5) If you are ordering flowers for someone here, especially on a holiday, please consider using a local florist vs. an “online” option. We don’t mind unpacking and arranging flowers, but they do take time and are often in rough shape. The following are some local florists:
Gregory and company Galleria Florist, Brookfield (262-827-8747)
A New Leaf Floral, Brookfield (262-547-5821)
Flowers by Cammy, Waukesha (262-797-0959).

6) Please consider setting up a Resident Trust Account for your loved one at the Front Desk/Receptionist area. Some activities require extra funds such as: dine-ins, outings, professional manicures, beauty shop appointments, and occasionally, craft projects, but the latter is not often. The account works like a savings account; any money not used will be returned and the account will gain interest.

Thank you so much for choosing Care-Age and for allowing us to care for your family member. Our goal is to enrich their lives and provide great memories for both you and your loved ones.
